I completed my first 8 mile run today! Most of my long runs are on Saturdays, but I have a 5K race to run this Saturday. Today is National Running Day, I figured it was a good day to go out and attempt my first 8 miler. It went well I think. I ate some Clif Shot Bloks to help me along the way. I really need to invest in some apparel with pockets, I don’t really enjoy storing my ‘energy’ inside my bra, ha! I had to stop and walk at two points, which kind of sucks, but one was on a killer hill that I completely forgot about and the other was on a hill toward the end of my run. It went better than expected and I call it a victory! I’m excited to perfect this 8 miler and move onto 9, although I’m sure that won’t happen until after my triathlon.

I’ve been scheduling my training out the week before and I just can’t seem to get enough in! There is so much to be done and so little time. Next week I am focusing on biking and then running right after. I am also going to attempt a bike ride on the actual road! Enough about next week, I still need to focus on finishing this week.
