I set out this morning to run a long 8 miles, I was a little nervous because I haven’t done a long distance run in a few weeks. It’s been difficult to keep up with my running because of how busy I’ve been planning this move to NY. The weather was about 60° outside and breezy. It was PERFECT! I felt amazing throughout the whole run. One of my goals was to be able to run 10 miles before I went to NY and I was trying to plan that run for this Friday, but I figured I might as well give it a shot today since I was feeling so good. I felt like the energizer bunny, I literally could’ve kept going and going. It was the most amazing run ever! I was so pumped up and was literally smiling the whole time. My body felt great and even at the end, I wasn’t dying to stop. My knees were definitely starting to feel the pain though, so I am icing them right now to help them recover. I’ve never felt so great after a run, it was so awesome! I broke my last distance record by 1. 7 miles. I’ve decided that I much prefer long distance running over fast paced short distances. The gratitude and satisfaction I feel after running such long distances is amazing and like nothing else.
- Distance: 10.8 Miles
- Time: 1 hr. 48 min. 48 sec.
- Pace: 10:04
Before my run I ate half a carrot cake Clif bar, drank some water, and half a redbull. When I got back I stretched a lot! I also drank an organic chocolate milk and the rest of my Clif bar.
For breakfast, with much persuasion my awesome boyfriend made me a really yummy waffle! Just a classic waffle with lots of butter and syrup. It was delicious, and huge! There was so much batter in the iron that the lid started to lift up as it was cooking.
Derek and I are headed to a family going away gathering today at his parents house. There is going to be so much good food and I’m sure I will be starving all day because of my run. I’m excited to see everyone and enjoy some good food.
Have a good rest of your Sunday!
