I had a surprisingly good and eventful Sunday. But, before I speak of Sunday, I must speak of Saturday. I finally watched North by Northwest and it was on blu-ray and I must say that it definitely lived up to the hype. I generally love most of Hitchcock’s movies so I wasn’t surprised with how entertaining and magnificent this one was. Kelly and I also made our own pizzas before the movie started. They came out great! Mine was definitely one of the best homemade pizzas I’ve ever had.
Mushroom and Pepperoni Pizza with mozzarella and cheddar cheese baked on a pizza stone.
Today we decided to stay in for most of the day. I decided to forego my run this morning because I just wanted to enjoy my lazy morning in bed with Derek. I haven’t been seeing much of him lately because of his insane hours, so I figured I would just move my run to tomorrow. Our goal was to make Belgian Sugar waffles. They took some time to complete, but they were definitely worth the effort. They came out amazing, but it’s too bad they are extremely bad for you. They had a ton of butter and sugar in them. They didn’t look the greatest, but their taste more than made up for it.
While consuming delicious waffles we watched a good chunk of the Patriots game down at Dave’s apartment. It was a good game and was glad to see them win considering this is the only game I’ve watched this season because we do not have cable.
We went to Five Guys tonight with Dave and this was our first time there. I WAS NOT hungry whatsoever going there, I do not know why I went at that time. Actually, yes I do know why! So I could see Giada De Laurentis on 5th ave on my way there! I was so excited to see her! I know it’s dumb, but seriously I love her and it’s cool to me that my first real celebrity sighting in NY was a food network person, that makes me happy, haha. She was tiny and I really really wanted to say something to her, but she was with her husband and I didn’t want to be rude. We totally made eye contact though!
Anyway, Five Guys was amazing even though I was about to explode right after I took one bite. I’ve heard a lot about their fries, but in my opinion I enjoyed my burger way more than my cajun french fries. They were a little soggy, but honestly I don’t think I enjoyed my burger as much as I would have if I were hungry. The burger was so melty and good. The best part of Five Guys is the free toppings. I am so impressed with the amount of different toppings you can get and they are all free! Amazing. I got a cheeseburger with lettuce, tomatoes, mushrooms, ketchup, mustard, and jalapenos. It was definitely the best fast food burger I’ve ever had and I can not wait to go back. Sorry I do not have a picture I was too busy gushing over the fact that I just saw Giada De Laurentis!
