I am starving right now! I am waiting for my rice to cook on the stove before I can eat. I am having leftovers. A piece of Chipotle Pepper chicken with Cheddar and Broccoli rice.

I CLEANED ALL DAY TODAY! Seriously, I cleaned the whole apartment and it was quite satisfying actually. I also wrote my three articles, got in a great workout, applied for another job, and had time to play some Beatles rockband! It was so much fun and I did pretty well considering I haven’t played in quite some time.

This morning I made Double Pumpkin Peanut Butter Oats. They were delicious, but I couldn’t finish it! I couldn’t believe it. I always finish my oatmeal, but today it was just too much and I left a little bit in the bowl. Oh well.

My oatmeal contained:

  • Cinnamon
  • Ginger
  • Nutmeg
  • Ground Cloves
  • 1/4 cup pureed pumpkin
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • a splash of vanilla
  • spoonful of Teddy PB
  • 1/3 of a Pumpkin Scone crumbled on top

I’ve been satisfying my sandwich craving the last two days and today I had this. A turkey and muenster cheese grilled sandwich with an apple and a pickle. So good!

I was so excited to get up and run this morning! I knew how warm it was supposed to be today. I had a nice 7 miles planned out and was so ready to run. It was nice because Derek and I actually woke up at the same time this morning around 9:30.

I wore capris, a sleeveless top and my nalgene ‘camelback’ which has been leaking the past few times I’ve used it. I thought it was from the mouthpiece and I figured it just wasn’t sealing properly, but it’s coming from the rubber around the mouthpiece. It has a hole in it! I was so annoyed running because my shirt was continuously getting soaked. By the end of my run I had to squeeze my shirt out because it was dripping with water. Other than that it was an excellent run. I felt really strong and fast and I didn’t even need the jelly beans that I brought with me. It was SOOOOO nice to run in that kind of weather, I seriously can’t believe how warm it is outside right now.

That is definitely my fastest 7 mile training run ever! I probably could’ve kept going and I would have, but I seriously couldn’t wait to change my wet clothes and get that thing off my back.

I ate the remainder of my Peanut Butter Clif Bar that I had before my run and drank some more water. Then, more oatmeal!

What is going on with the weather? It’s so freakin UGLY outside right now. I am proud of myself though because I actually mustered up the motivation to run. It wasn’t too cold out, but the wind was terrible. I literally had to fight and push my way through it. I did some speed work at the track and this week there was hardly anyone there. I’m not surprised, everyone is probably at home curled up in their beds. I felt a little weak today, kind of tired and I really couldn’t wait to be done. I blame the weather.

I ate half a pumpkin spice clif bar and drank a small glass of juice before I left. When I got back I ate the only thing we have in the house; oatmeal.

I crumbled the other half of my clif bar on top along with some granola, peanut butter, a banana, and honey.

For dinner, I made some Trader Joe’s Roasted Red Pepper Soup with some added pepperoni and shredded cheddar cheese. I also had a slice of leftover pizza from last night.

I did lots of cleaning today and some laundry. It’s nice to have everything de-cluttered and organized. Yeah, that’s what I do on Friday nights, it’s that exciting around here.

Boy am I tired today! It must be the weather outside, it’s not raining, but it might as well be. I woke up slightly earlier than usual this morning and it took a lot of persuasion from myself to get out there and run. I figured mapping out a new route would give me some extra motivation. I mapped out a quick 5K and tried to stay away from the main streets as much as possible. I must say that it was quite a success. My run was rather quick and I didn’t have to weave in and out of people. I must continue running on different streets so I can stay away from the crowds and busy intersections.

I came home and did some core work followed by a bit of upper body strength training. I’ve been trying to push myself to get back into the shape I was by this time last year, or even 6 months ago. I’ve gained at least 5 lbs since the beginning of the summer so I’m just trying to up my workouts. I went to the gym yesterday and it was definitely a nice change. Can’t wait to be able to get my own membership.

After working out was all said and done I whipped up some Steel Cut Oats, in a jar! In the mix was Bear Naked Granola, Honey, and a banana. It was then all poured into an almost empty jar of chunky peanut butter.

Applied for another job today, a one day makeup effects job that is also paying. Gotta go, I’m starving!

An Obsession with Burgers

Now that my make up effects gig is over I am jobless, but that does not mean I have nothing to do! Between yesterday and today I have done 6 loads of laundry and still have one left to do! The curtains in our bedroom are up, the boxes are dwindling and the dvd shelves are up. I feel like the apartment as a whole is finally coming to completion. Now all that is left are the shelves for the bedroom that we still have to purchase and a rug for the living room. I seriously promise, pictures are coming!

 

Sooo…I had the Nike Human Race on Saturday morning. I was a little nervous about it because I have been really slacking in the running department. Had to get up real early on Saturday morning and so did my amazing boyfriend. I am happy he came with me even though he had minimal sleep all week! There were so many runners, it was awesome! I love big races. I barely got there on time, I literally go to my place in the start line and had like 3 minutes. The race went well, but honestly it was a little boring. We just went around in a a circle 2 1/2 times and I was kind of expecting it to be a lot better. Of course, like at every race I always look back and think I could’ve pushed myself harder. This was my second 10K ever and I came in at 57:30. It’s also my first race where I did not do better than the last. It’s a little disappointing, but I am still happy with my time am glad that I could run the whole way. I am also annoyed that the race results that are posted online only reveal the clock time and not the chip time. It was a good thing I brought my watch because I didn’t cross the finish line until a good 2 minutes after the gun went off. Oh and ultimately I wore way too many clothes because I was HOT! I should not have worn pants or two shirts.

Anyway, onwards…today I had some amazing food and it was all prepared by me! This morning I made really good oatmeal with:

  • banana
  • flaxseed
  • peanut butter
  • cinnamon
  • honey bunches of oats
  • honey

For lunch I made a repeat meal. Yesterday I threw together a few things and made it into a burrito for dinner, but today I had the leftovers and made another one for lunch.

This was so good and I am going to make this often. All I did was saute up some broccoli, chickpeas and a little bit of cooked rice with some soy sauce until it was heated through. I then put some salsa and hummus in the wrap and folded it all together. Then I put it back in the pan to give it a nice crisp on both sides and topped it with sour cream and more salsa.

 

I have been having unhealthy cravings for burgers lately and I have no idea why. I decided to make some bison burgers tonight so in between all of my laundry havoc I managed to make it to the grocery store to pick up the necessary ingredients.

Oats in a Jar

I got this idea from a few of the blogs that I read and I knew I had to try it. I made oatmeal and put it into a just about empty almond butter jar. In my oatmeal I had a banana, honey and cinnamon. I then scooped it into the empty nut butter jar and ate it right from there. Yum! It was good. I scraped the sides of the jar and got delicious bits of almond butter. You should try it!
